Tuition and Fees

The rates shown are for the 2023-2024 academic year. 

  • Tuition: $6472/course
  • Enrollment Deposit (non-refundable): $250
  • Graduate Student Services Fee*: $466/quarter (autumn, winter, spring)
  • Lifetime Transcript Fee: $75 (assessed during first quarter of enrollment)

*The Graduate Student Services Fee covers student services and campus resources, including student health and wellness, career services, recreational facilities, and campus programming. For additional information, please see the University of Chicago Bursar.

The cost of tuition is expected to increase 2-4% annually.

Financial Aid

The University’s Student Loan Administration office can provide assistance to admitted students interested in applying for financial aid. Please visit the University of Chicago Financial Aid website to learn more about the different types of financial aid that may be available. Note that Federal loans require students to be enrolled in a minimum of two courses per quarter.

Scholarships

A number of partial tuition scholarships are available and will be awarded primarily based on merit. Consideration for these scholarships is part of the standard application process; no additional application is required. Students are also encouraged to apply for external scholarships.
